Every year, thousands of people flock to Forest Park for the Shakespeare Festival; the only free, professional, outdoor theatre production in St. Louis. Their mission is “to produce professional Shakespeare theatre, outdoors in a city park, free and for a diverse audience, and to provide education through schools and community outreach.”
This year’s production is The Taming of the Shrew, beginning on May 27th and running though June 19th. Performances start at 8 pm every night (except Tuesdays). Before the show starts enjoy musicians, singers, dancers, and jugglers!
Admission is free, and there are chair rentals for $7 and $10. Or, bring a blanket and sit on the lawn! Picnic dinners and beverages are also available. Although admission is free, they are dependent on donations. So come out and support the St. Louis Shakespeare Festival!
